"Remi brings back
memories through
music in an aesthetic, easy and modern way"
For this project we had to design an assistive product for elderly with a rich interaction. We wanted to create a rich interaction with a record player, since music plays an important role in retrieving memories. We aimed to give the record player a clean and modern look, so the object would fit in the interior of contemporary houses. ​
For the projection, we aspired to make an aesthetic, simple projection that harbours easy user actions. This way the animation is user friendly for our target group without reducing the elegance
of the product.
The complexity of the technical side of our project was limited. We created the arduino code, integrated 3 end-stop switches, a 360°servo motor and 3D-printed a sprocket and gear rack.
