"For me personally, Muji exudes responsibility, comfort and timelessness above all"

For this product design project, we had to develop a different design concept for a given product within the brand style of Muji. This project was completed within a group of three students. First we had to analyze the brand identity of Muji, second we had to define explicit and implicit characteristics of the brand. Some of the implicit characteristics we determined are: rational, comfortable, universal, timeless, responsible and global minded. Raw materials, minimalistic, fine details, round shapes and soft colours are some of the explicit characteristics we determined. We transformed both the implicit and explicit design characteristics into a new design of a headphone. The three of us generated separately a headphone design in the line of the brand style of Muji.
Finally, after completing a quantitative research, the different generated design concept was chosen (see pictures below).
